Google has invested heavily in a move that has made front pages around the world. And, the Mountain View company has decided to buy Motorola’s nothing more and nothing less than 12.5 trillion dollars.

Specifically Google has bought the Motorola Mobility section, that is what becomes the only mobile phone department of the company. In any case, Google has sought to reassure those manufacturers that use Android on their phones noting that Android platform will remain open and will remain a licensed Motorola Android. In other words, do not start looking for another operating system because there is nothing to fear as they carry Motorola Mobility as a separate business.
In a press release, the CEO of Google, Larry Page, has announced that the reason behind the purchase of Motorola is to buy the huge number of patents owned by the company. Namely 17 000 patents approved and as many thousands in the process of approval.
The move by Google was inevitable if they did not want hanged Android operating system that already was having many problems with patents with other companies and was causing them so many losses.
For now we will wait and see what the first step for Google as the owner of Motorola Mobility.
